The Politics and Poetics of Hopelessness in Plath’s “Daddy”

Sylvia Plath is one of the most famous poets to come out in the late twentieth century. The shock absorbers that kill the couple also assault the mind with the sensitive, baffled poet Esther. Plath pulls parallels by a highly personal experience, namely the loss of her father and her searching for relationships with powerful and controlling guys such as Ted Hughes which has a historical trend, namely the destruction of your entire people’s physical and social existence because of the glamour of fascism.
