Excerpt from Study Proposal:

Jimmie showed zero amount of respect for the original woman: “Wot’s yer animal-spirit, the, yer black hoe? I trash can killin’ a lot of pets or animals lately. What animal’s got yer heart and soul, the? ” (p. 25). It could be inferred here that Jimmie was afraid of the ladies in his individual culture perhaps because his own half-black conscience was guilty or perhaps insecure? “When he really does sleep which has a black woman it is shown as a sort of cultural rape, of her by him, ” produces critic Allan James Thomas (Senses of Cinema). Anne Hickling-Hudson produces, “The tragedy of Jimmie is that, mistreated and embarrassed by the white colored world intended for trying to understanding its symbols, he is struggling to relate favorably to the dark world, which in turn, in spite of it is faults, is definitely his just support system” (Hickling-Hudson, 1990).
On page up to 29 he is making love with “a full-blood inside the same space where [his brother] Trépas had her half-breed sibling. In fact apparently Jimmie Blacksmith had a fully star-crossed romantic relationship with girls of color and white colored women also. He was caught up between two worlds and couldn’t gather enough power to create a new world of his own through he attempted. On page 170, in Jimmie’s final eager escape strategy he ends up in a chapel where he hears voices in a “clacking office. ” They can be saying, “God have whim on poor Mort BlacksmithTaught to get rid of women by simply his krydsning brother Jimmie” (p. 170).
The story of Jimmie great very colorful life and times is indeed prominent with this book that the image of the aboriginal woman is only sketchily covered.
