“An evil person might be considered as an individual who condones bad or morally wrong activities that cause wreck, injury, misfortune or destruction” Brandon Meeks writes in. In the enjoy “Othello” by William Shakespeare the smoothness of Iago can be considered evil and wrong. Iago is a two faced cynical that just wants payback and does not value who he uses and exactly how he uses them. “Iago embodies evil through his own words” Tiffany Solomon writes inside the article “Iago’s Evil Deeds”. Even though Iago is supposed to become Othello’s initially ensign this individual announces, “I follow him to serve my turn upon him”, and goes even further against his trustworthy officer to say, “In subsequent him, I follow but myself”. This offer shows that Iago is wicked because though he is designed to protect and serve his superior officer, Othello, this individual has no target of actually helping him, nevertheless he instead works under Othello to hurt him”.
Also on line 323 Iago says “I hate the Moor, And it is thought abroad, that “twixt my own sheets” Has done my business office. I know not really if it be true, Yet I, to get mere hunch in that kind, Will do as though for surety”. Iago says he will not exactly understand if the rumours true, yet he’s decided to go ahead and ruin Othello’s life anyway. Iago shows through his own words that he plans to work with evil and deception to exploit Othello’s personality. He uses any means possible to mastermind his plan. “Iago’s form of predation is however psychopathic in the choice of sufferer. His subjects are his fellow people, his causes are multiple and contradictory” explains Gemma Miller in the text “Iago and Psychopathy: A Fiel and Performance Analysis”. Iago throughout the play makes Roderigo seem like an idiot. Roderigo is usually blindly deeply in love with Desdemona which is willing to whatever it takes to get her to love him back. Iago uses householder’s weaknesses in the advantage and he uses Roderigo to hurt Othello. Iago has no conscious, this individual continues to deceive Roderigo although he is applying him to reach Othello he can also using him for money.
Therefore Iago usually takes the presents that suitable for Desdemona coming from Rodrigo intended for himself. “Lago is above all a schemer. His enthusiasm is to control others and determine the course of events by working secretively to bend actuality to his will”. Is exactly what Richard Raatzsch states in, “The Apologetics of Evil: The Case of Iago”. Cassio like Roderigo fully trust Iago, that they both think that Iago is attempting to help them. Unfortunately for Cassio was a victim of Iago’s games and ended and Cassio took Iago’s guidance which bring about Cassio becoming trapped, in which he was injured. Brandon johnson writes in the article “Analysis of Iago Character in Shakespeare’s “Othello” that “Iago sees persons for their true nature, recognising their faults and weaknesses, and uses them while objects in his chess game, destroying every one to ultimately destroy the king himself”. Iago has a talent of understanding and manipulating the desires in the people around him, making him a powerful and bad person. Iago was able to mislead the major heroes from the play “Othello”. He convinced Emilia of taking the handkerchief and then getting lurking behind the hearing of Othello and placing ideas in his head, Iago knowing that Othello would not hesitation him. Iago has a manipulative personality, he was able to encourage Cassio to hold drinking and he as well convinces Roderigo to give him money.
This manipulative characteristic is what brainwashed Othello, making him think tips that were not the case, but mainly because Iago “honest Iago” Othello listened to him. An wicked person might be considered as somebody who condones bad or perhaps morally incorrect activities that cause ruin, injury, misfortune or break down. Iago can be considered the devil him self. He is driven by nasty and plays with everyone to try to damage Othello. Iago never contemplated no otherwise rather than him self and he can immoral.
